Tomar Industries' long history of delivering the highest quality and best value to its customers culminated with the realization that the 40 year old company simply ran out of space. After studying all possibilities of expanding the current location, it was determined that the company would be on the move.

After finding the right location for their new corporate headquarters, Tomar contracted PJR as a design-builder. PJR's design team went to work to understand Tomar's business and processes. The result of the design meetings yielded a building that not only gave Tomar room to grow, but also gave them a state of the art facility that is second to none in their industry.

PJR designed a 36,000 sf pre-engineered building, which serves three functions for Tomar.

The first is a fully functional warehouse/distribution center, complete with its own administration office, entrance, and a warehouse that boasts a 16 foot tall racking system. The warehouse, which was designed with five loading docks and a drive in ramp, all with motorized overhead doors, offers Tomar over 30,000 sf of usable floor space.

The second function of the building is that of administrative/business services. The building is home to Tomar's executive offices, complete with private restrooms, a state of the art conference room, and work areas that offer just the right atmosphere for the sales department, client services, and record keeping. During the design phase, careful planning was coordinated between PJR and Tomar's furniture supplier to insure that floor outlets and data lines were exactly where they needed to be.

The third function of this facility is a showroom and point of sale location. Although most of Tomar's sales are phoned, faxed or placed on line, the building was designed to have a separate entrance for "walk-in" customers. This 2,400 sf showroom was designed with multiple floor and wall finishes offering Tomar the ability to demonstrate different product lines to their clients.
